Diesel Retrofit Boot Camp™
General Information

Virginia DEQ Central Office
Richmond, VA
September 16-17, 2009

The Diesel Retrofit Boot Camp™ Program was designed by Emissions Advantage, LLC to be a comprehensive, interactive training approach for those involved in planning and implementing programs to reduce emissions from existing diesel powered engines and for fleet operators and technicians that are, or may become involved with these emission reduction activities.

Agenda

The Program is structured into two parts.

  • Part 1 (September 16th) describes the various technologies, strategies and engine applications that are likely to be most successful in achieving emission reductions. Engine applications include those for on-road vehicles, and a wide range of nonroad vehicle/equipment functions (e.g., construction and grounds maintenance equipment, locomotive and rail maintenance equipment, airport ground service equipment, marine vessels and port operation equipment, stationary generators, etc.)

This Part includes a discussion of the benefits of reducing diesel emissions as part of a comprehensive strategy to address climate change issues. Part 1 will provide information tools that will be critical to those planning and implementing emission reduction programs. It will also be invaluable to fleet operators and technicians who are interested in, or may be called upon to participate in, an emission reduction project.

  • Part 2 (September 17th) is particularly valuable to organizations involved with planning emission reduction programs and projects, and provides a good understanding of all of the elements needed to achieve a successful program.
